Summary:

With Atlanta’s new addition of the Atlanta Streetcar system we ask that you ‘Hop on Board’ to witness and experience the reconnection of Atlanta as a culturally diverse and unified city. Previously segregated by the interstate connector, Atlanta now retains the capability of providing safe, comfortable, and reliable transportation by means of a 2-mile loop on which the Atlanta Streetcar navigates, all while bridging the barrier between the East side and West side of downtown Atlanta and providing access to various major tourist destinations, universities, businesses, and neighborhoods. Hop on Board looks to raise awareness for the streetcar through three different media outlets. These include...

       •  Print - used to bring to attention the various sights and landmarks in which will be aimed at enticing the viewer to explore the city by means of the Atlanta Streetcar. Print can will include postcards, stickers, posters, a brochure, etc.

      •  Web - timetable layouts for phone and computer are created as a means of navigating and keeping track of the Atlanta Streetcar in a simple user friendly way. In addition to the timetables include the various social media outlets that are maintained under the branding of the Hop on Board campaign to update and inform viewers on news regarding the Atlanta Streetcar as well as to further push the awareness of the streetcar providing connectivity among an otherwise segregated city.

     •  Animation - geared towards creating excitement in exploring more easily accessible regions of the city which showcases the various attractions and businesses located around Atlanta. This animation includes segments that goes on for 30 seconds and a for 15 seconds

Audience:

The audience of the Hop on Board campaign spans, residents, tourists, downtown pedestrians, and commuters (students and professionals). Reached by the diversity of the buildings presented in an appealing way to show the Atlanta Streetcar’s various stops.

Tone/Manner:

Hop on Board hopes to provoke a yearning and explorative excitement in viewers, as a means of pointing out the diverse areas reachable from by the Atlanta Streetcar.

Unplug ATL PSA

BACKGROUND
Unplug Atlanta is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of technolo-
gy addiction. The goal is to raise awareness that technology can interfere in human awareness
and face-to-face communication and is potentially a negative influence in people’s lives.

OBJECTIVE
Make an exective public service announcement ad campaign for Unplug Atlanta.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Anyone immersed in technology for hours a day, specifically ages 18 to 35.

KEY MESSAGE
Put down your handheld world, look at the real one and get your head out of the cloud.

CREATIVE SUMMARY
We want to create a fun, memorable ad campaign to raise awareness that technology
addiction can be a problem. Too many people are texting and driving, which is dangerous.
People are also texting during their kids’ dance recital or soccer game, or during parties and
even at the dinner table, instead of communicating and talking to people around them. We’d like
to raise awareness about what’s really important in life and get people to focus more on the
people in front of them, instead of their Facebook feed.
Using laughter, the best medicine and also a proven marketing strategy, we will make
our ads memorable. The video will be a compilation of hilarious “fail” moments. Sample “fail”
moments include when someone trips and falls, walks into a telephone pole or sign, or misses
something interesting or important. All these people will be solely focused on a cell phone/tablet
instead of the world around them.
The print component of this ad campaign is focused on connecting and interacting with
the audience outside of the web and digital interfaces. We have created a variety of brightly
colored stickers that mimic caution signs to get people to look up from their phones and avoid
running into obstacles in real world around them. The audience can print them online or order a
free set and start posting them around to raise awareness for the Unplug Atlanta movement and
technology addiction as a whole.
